2025 Follow up of Pasted Mowanas – Learning All the Time

Unseasonal torrential rains and flooding in Botswana delayed Teddy's ability to get out into the wild. He was concerned the concoction that he had pasted on damaged Mowanas last year might have washed away. It's tenacity in adhering to the trees in harsh conditions had never been tested. The first Mowanas on the mainland, that he visited showed that he needn't have worried. The paste was intact on the trunks and there was no further elephant damage. The Mowanas are not just still standing, they are growing new shoots indicating their ongoing health. He then set off in the boat to check the "seven sisters" a group of Mowana's on an island. The island belongs to a family and the grandfather is supportive of Teddy's Mowana Conservation work. However, the first born, who lives in the city was skeptical and suspicious of Teddy's motives. Teddy was only allowed to paste the existing areas of damage and not the entire trunk, as he has learned to do from past experience. While the pasted regions show no more damage, the elephants moved to untreated areas of the trees and continued to debark and eat them. Teddy will share this information with them and repaste more thoroughly.
