Human Resources Academic Reflection
Throughout this experience of creating a learning experience to the 9th graders as a result of the Human Resources unit, I’ve understood many different types of work human rights managers have to go through during this process. Not only have I seen the managing part like the type of questions they conduct in interviews or how to learn their audience in order for their methods to be put into place effectively, but I also saw it through the lens of a person applying to a job and the steps they have to undergo. Steps like a cover letter, how to respond to the questions in a professional manner, understanding the job applying to, and more. Furthermore, I believe that companies are able to know their candidates more through these steps or even choose the correct ones because, for example, with the cover letter the person applying for the job is mentioning a specific problem within the company and how they will contribute to solving it. Companies are used to people stating their strengths and how it will be beneficial for the company, nonetheless, problems tend to happen and it’s always important to choose a candidate that will help solve it.
Human Resources managers have to take many different factors into consideration while analyzing the current employment situation of a company. Human Resources managers can either plan for increases or decreases in hiring depending on the situation in which these companies are in; initially, this can be done by creating a workforce plan which analyzes hiring and firing depending on different factors, or also by conducting market research to see the opinion of the audience’s perspective on the work ethic of the company. By creating a workforce plan, for example, Human Resources managers can see if the company is well prepared to be hiring new people by looking at factors like historical trends in the company, the sales of this one, labor turnover rate, and more. This can allow Human Resources managers to determine if it’s absolutely crucial for a company to start hiring or not. Additionally, by conducting a market research study, Human Resources managers can see the public’s perspective on how well the service of the company is and decide on whether to renew the entire personnel or leave it how it is.
