CAS: Regarding Creativity

I’m a person that loves fashion, loves reading about fashion, and now, writing about it. Throughout the summer I’ve spent lots of my free time investigating for my Extended Essay, which is about fashion specifically fast fashion, and I’ve also been scrolling through Pinterest looking for outfits, as well as shopping online (because we’re in the midst of a pandemic). I’m not a very artistic or creative person though, so for my creativity entry I have decided to not do a painting or draw or whatsoever, but I have decided to write (since I think I have a talent for that?) about fashion.

I’ve decided to create a fashion blog, although at the moment it’s just a bunch of drafts on my Word, where I can write about fashion trends, tendencies, sustainability, and more. Writing the drafts for this hypothetical blog I want to make has allowed me to discover more about myself and possibly the pathway I’d like to take in the future or at least an idea for it. I want to use the platforms I’m given in this technological world for a good cause, as well as inform people on their shopping habits in this case and show them what it means and the correlation there is to the generation which they belong to.

Quarantine hasn’t been easy, but I’ve managed to discover more things about myself as well as find this inner peace within me to do what I love. I hope this fashion blog has a potential future but at the moment I guess I’ll just keep my thoughts as drafts since I’m scared and embarrassed about what will happen if I were to publish them online. Nonetheless, it is a risk I am willing to take just to try something new for the first time in a while.

Learning Outcomes:

• Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth: I noticed that I like to write and that I am very passionate about certain subjects in life as well as I love to gain knowledge on new themes like in this case trends or fast fashion.
• Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience: Developing a blog and committing to it could be a potential CAS project so in this case I am initiating and planning one although it’s not entirely done yet.

• Inquirer: I’m a person that loves to learn every day and learn new things. Throughout this vacation I have been constantly gathering information for my Extended Essay which is mostly related to fashion, all coming from a variety of sources.
• Knowledgeable: Fashion is a subject I am really interested in and also a subject I’m relatively knowledgeable on since I seem to enjoy investigating and talking about it.
