What challenges have you undertaken in the past few weeks and how have you used your strengths or overcame your weaknesses while working on the project?
The challenges I have undertaken during these past few weeks is the yearbook. Since Proyecto Vida Mujer events were postponed until October 2020, Julie and I have decided to be in charge of the yearbook. Some challenges I undertook these past few weeks were creating this form to apply for the Pictavo (the platform where we create the yearbook) because the lady helping us with the form was on vacation so our form was delayed.
Furthermore, trying to add everyone to the Pictavo website has been complicated due to the fact that a few of them have accounts already linked to the other Pictavo membership for the old yearbook. In addition, trying to get used to Pictavo and understanding it has been complicated because its features have changed since the last time I used it (which was last year for the old yearbook).
Nonetheless, I’ve tried to solve these challenges with my strengths. For example, while creating the form for this year’s membership I used my communication to ask Melanie and Ashley on what to write, who to email, etc., they have helped me a lot with this journey and are very willing to help as a result of their experience.
In addition, I’ve used my skills on not procrastinating and being organized by having a plan for each Yearbook Committee meeting every week. Last week we talked about cover ideas and we came up with like 20 with the whole team, and this week I coordinated with Melanie and Ashley to teach the whole committee about how to use Pictavo. Finally, insofar as adding everyone to the Pictavo website I’ve organized a meeting with Ashley where she’s going to help me add everyone in the committee to the website.
