Giving Out Presents with Abriendo Mentes!

Yesterday (December 12th) was a great day :). I got to spend the day volunteering with Abriendo Mentes to hand out presents to kids all around the area. There were lots of volunteers and we even had the police helping us which was super cool. First, we had to decorate the truck that would be leading the other cars (in the picture here you can see it partially done). We also decorated the other cars but not as much. Then, we loaded up every car with presents. It was so fun to go around Potrero, Surfside, and Flamingo blasting Christmas music and giving out presents and cookies to kids who often go to Abriendo Mentes. You could truly tell how happy and grateful they were. It made me so happy every time to see their faces. I think we handed out around 300 bags in total. It was a great project and I am so glad that I was able to take part in it. We definitely helped to spread the holiday spirit and make some days a little brighter, which made it all worth it. It was a great time! :)
