Hydroponic Solutions and test plants

I have effectively set up the system, the motor was working, I put the Hydroponic solutions in the water and went to get some test plants to put in the system. When I went to go get the plants, I found out that because I didn't take good care of the plants for a couple of weeks, some of the plants I had prepared died. fortunately there were still some alive so I started taking special care of them to make sure that they don't die and also that more grow from them. Right now I am waiting for the blackout curtain to be ready to pout over the tank and I hope that with the fabric, no more algae grows and that the water doesn't heat up, because I have noticed that this was an issue for the plants.
