Update on my CAS project: This past week was somewhat monumental in my project, as I begin to finalize my CAS experience as a whole, I now had to think long term on how the project could continue to function even after I leave. And that’s exactly what I did over this past week, I moved my project from my house to the organization futuros brillantes which will continue to utilize the system I created to grow crops and continue to do activities with the community. Working with this organization made me reflect upon the process of building my project and weather it would have been more logical to build it in the organization in the first place. Yet as my thoughts unravelled I came to the realization that everything happens for a reason and constructing the project at my house taught me valuable lessons that I would have not had the opportunity to learn otherwise. One big one being that when nobody is on top of you constantly, when or how will you find the motivation within to actually work on it. This is a lesson/skill I admit I am still working on, yet having that initial experience that began in 11th grade taught me that self management was a skill I couldn’t avoid to learn and I have definitely gotten better since the beginning of my CAS experience, and that I continue to practice daily especially in IB. Going back to the progress of the movement of the project itself, I initially moved all the parts this last week, I went to the system over the weekend to start with the rebuilding process, but it was definitely lengthier than anticipated considering they have to make alterations to accommodate the space, therefore I will be going sometime this week.
