Jonatan Rodriguez Motivational Speaker

About Jonatan Rodriguez Araya:

He used to work with my mom, Shawna Mullen at a hotel called Witch’s Rock Surf Camp in Tamarindo, Guanacaste. A few years ago Jonatan got into a motorcycle accident in which he lost his leg. He’s always been the active type, with his involvement in bike riding, gymnastics so this accident hit him hard. he came to the realization that that was his reality for the rest of his life, and that he had to learn how to live with it while still doing the things he loves. He didn’t let his leg being amputated a reason to stop doing what he loved. He wasn’t able to participate in all sports that he used to play. so he adapted and tried new things, like sitting volleyball, which he got good at. He also competes professionally in Jiu-Jitsu. This proves the amount of willpower he had and how he didn’t let his leg interfere with the true things he loved. He now wants to share his story with others and pass on motivation so people can overcome their own struggles.

Current plan:

I have gotten in contact with Jonatan Araya, and we began discussing how we could meet and get the kids of La Paz involved with motivation and his story. We began talking in late March and Covid in the area was under control, so we had the plans of bringing him to Guanacaste and have him present to the whole high school. I spoke to La Paz school’s operation leader, Allan and he said that it would be best to make a meeting online so that we could respect Covid bubbles in which Covid ended up spiking which forced us to make different changes. We decided to do the motivational speech on Zoom since all classes are online and we are deciding on a date. I would also need to propose a date to Allan and see if he approves. My next step is to have a post on the La Paz Chirripo classroom where a Zoom link would be posted that leads them to Jonatan’s presentation.
