One challenge I have overcome throughout the past few weeks was finding out Proyecto Vida Mujer is being postponed until October. Jimena and I then decided to take over the yearbook as we are getting close to the end of the year and none of our classmates showed interest in this project. I am excited for creating the yearbook as I can use my strength of designing the yearbook because I like design and art and am pretty good at it.
Another challenge we are experiencing with the yearbook so far is figuring out how to use Pictavo, the website we will use to create and put together the yearbook. To overcome this challenge, on Thursday we are having Melanie and Ashley come into our meeting and explain how to use it and what they have done in the past. Hopefully this will help Jimena and I be able to fully take over this project and start putting it together.
This challenge of figuring out how to use Pictavo is also delaying our progress with the yearbook, as it has so many aspects like putting the yearbook together, getting people to buy ads, taking pictures, designing the cover, etc. We also hope that in our meeting on Thursday Melanie and Ashley will explain their process, so we can get an idea of where to begin and set dues dates of what should be completed by when.
Taking over this project is helping me overcome one of my weaknesses, procrastination, as the yearbook takes a lot of time and effort to put together and I will have to consistently work on it so we can have them done and being printed by June 1st.
