Julie Reflection Journal Entry – January 12th 2020

My goals for this trimester is to raise money for our upcoming May 2020 campaign. We also want to reach out to a few women who agreed to be in a video and go visit them and figure out maybe something else we can do to help them get started, like doctors appointments, food for their kids, help them get jobs, etc. So far this trimester we have been reaching out to the women from the 2018 campaign that did not do their surveys and we created a grant proposal to send to the Guanacaste Community Fund on behalf of Las Catalinas, so we hope to receive donations from them to help support us for our future campaigns. Learning outcome: Demonstrate engagement with issues of global importance: Through these past two weeks I have demonstrated engagement with issues of global importance, since I have been reaching out to women, making sure they are doing ok and that their insertion was successful and collecting data to help us move forward with this project. Also, by sending out our grant proposal we hope to receive some money to help us continue with our project which is helping extinguish an issue that is spread worldwide. Learner Portfolio: Communicator: I was a communicator because I have been talking to a lot of women about their experience with the IUD and how it has affected their life, and a little about their home life.
