Julie Service Journal Entry – December 12th 2019
3 months after each IUD campaign, we call the women who received the IUD's to check in and fill out a survey to make sure everything is ok and collect data. We had realized that some of the women from a campaign at the end of 2018 were missed, so we split up the calls between me, Jimena and Sibley where we each ended up with about 25 women. From the women I called, I just asked them if they felt well treated, are satisfied with the IUD, how this opportunity has changed their lives and so on. This piece of our project is very crucial as it helps us understand what we as a team could improve on and collect data that we can then put in grant proposals to hopefully raise money to keep this project running and continue to have more campaigns all around the country. Learning outcomes: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences: through these calls I was able to show commitment as almost half of the women did not answer, so I called multiple times over the span of a week, then if they still did not answer, I created an email to send each of them the survey. demonstrate engagement with issues of global importance: Project Vida Mujer is a project that focuses on helping women in poverty all over the country and even the post survey phone calls can help these women. Through the survey, we can communicate with these women to make sure nothing is wrong and make sure they are able to get a revision.
