Julie Twitter Trends – November 11th 2019

In CAS class, we had to find 5 trending tweets that connected to our CAS projects. The 5 tweets I found were about women’s rights and a woman’s right to abortion. For my two tweets about women’s rights by UN Women and Women’s March, they talk about the progress women have made in both the States and Africa. I choose these two tweets because as our CAS project is helping women, it is important to show how people all over the world are helping women and how it’s making a difference. This is a global trend because for hundreds of years now, people all over the world have been fighting for equality and women’s rights are one of the many rights that are bringing us closer and closer to equality. The other three tweets I choose were about abortion rights. Two of them by NARAL and Planned Parenthood talked about the importance of being able to choose and how we need to fight for this choice. For example, Planned Parenthood talked about how in Missouri there is only one abortion clinic left and people are fighting to keep it open. Then I choose to take one from the Pro Life Campaign which states that the right of abortion is harming women. I choose to look at both sides of this trend because they both have a lot of people supporting them and it’s important to listen to what everyone has to say. This trend connects to my CAS project because we are giving contraceptives to women to help them not have unplanned children that they don’t have enough resources to provide for.
