Katherine-Journal Entry HR project Week 5- May 27, 2020

During this fifth week I've kept communicating with the second grade english teacher and the student. I was able to communicate with the teacher and set a meeting with the student in which I could observe the way in which the book Explode the Code is used. She gave a class to the student while I was taking notes in the observations of the class. This book it's really easy to use, I think it will help in the development of the language of the student. In the same way the teacher told me some methods she used to remind the student the difference between the d and b since she had a lot of problems with differentiating these letters. This made me grow and develop as a learner since now I know new methods I can apply to students with difficulties learning their second language. As well this project has made me develop empathy towards other members of my community since now I'm more open minded and since we are all facing this situation of coronavirus I feel good that I'm able to help. I hope that in the following weeks I can help the student develop her second language and I want to keep learning more methods to teach. I will keep communicating with the teacher and asking her if I can observe her classes because I think this really helps me to understand how my classes need to be arranged to make it more professional.
