The past weekend I have worked with my dad on starting the construction of our go kart. We started by taking the metal we had previously washed and painted. Then we started cutting it with a chop saw to the measurements we had come up with earlier using the donor cart as a reference. Once we had a significant amount of pieces we decided to try our hands at welding. The problem was we had thin metal and with the type of welding we where using it was supper easy to burn a hole through the metal. So we decided to overcome this challenge by having all the pieces ready so we can get someone else to weld it for us. Starting to build this kart was a really great experience and I got to learn how to use things I didn’t before like a chop saw or a welder.
