Project Pitch

• What is your project?

This project is a documentary with possibilities of other media outcomes.

• Why are you doing it?

To celebrate and remember the Guanacaste culture. Things are changing and they might be gone soon… forever. Let this be a reminder of who we are or have been.

30 years ago this place was very different than what it is now. We barely have pictures of it at the time. So… To document something that will be gone. Before its too late.

Personally, it also helps me process and understand where I stand as a person who migrated to this area – as a baby – and grew up in it but was not born fully immersed in it. This would help me personally but also for future projects and years of my life. To connect deeper with the province I grew up in.

• Who does it help?

It helps the province to strengthen its sense of identity. Hopefully in the eye of the whole country as well. My intention would be for the Capital of San Jose to also see Guanacaste standing strong by itself. For Guanacaste to feel this way as well.
