September 8th, 2019 – Jimena CAS Journal Entry

CAS Journal Entry #50

This year in 12th grade, Julie and I have decided to keep working with Geneva with Proyecto Vida Mujer. The plan we have Proyecto Vida Mujer is that we’re planning a small clinic (for about 3-5 women because of Coronavirus) in Nosara with women that urgently need a form of birth control. Julie and I will help Geneva logistically, with the planning of the event, following hygienic procedures, writing archives, etc. We might not be able to volunteer in the clinic as a result of COVID-19 we will gladly help from afar con anything they might need.

Additionally, Julie and I want to take the yearbook project again since it appears that not many kids are interested in taking over it so far. Since we leave in May, we could be in charge of the yearbook from now until the middle of the second trimester and then, pass it along to whoever might want to take over it. Julie and I want to jumpstart the Yearbook Committee and explain to the next people involved how does the purchasing of the yearbooks work, fundraising, ads, etc.

Finally, the other idea I had was to start a fashion blog where I could talk about trends, future trends, vintage fashion, local businesses, sustainable apparel, fast fashion, and more. It is something I’m very passionate about and it would be nice to spread it to other people. Nonetheless, due to the other projects I have this one would be mostly on the sidelines and like my own little personal project.

Overall, I think I will remain busy during CAS, especially with yearbook happening and starting to brainstorm cover topics, email Pictavo, etc. I think it will be a good year!
