This break, I decided to begin volunteering in a business called the Sailing Center, which is ~10 minutes away from my house by bike, which is how I have been getting there. It is a company that provides rental service and tours of beach and ocean related products. They provide rentals for paddle boards, kayaks, life vests, snorkeling gear, and small sail boats. They also provide tours with the snorkeling gear, small sail boats, and big sail boats, as well as some fishing tours. I have been going there 3 times a week for 5 hours a day, helping them prepare the kayaks and boats, help the customers launch and return, cleaning and organizing the office and the area around it. They also have a race day on Sundays, so I started going there for the full day on Sundays, and will continue doing so during the rest of my stay here. It has been very fun being there so far, as all the people working there are awesome, and I’m working outside lifting heavy things, so it helps me get in shape and get a tan, which I didn’t really have until now.
