Stacy – Human resources Project Week 4

Right now, my main goal or objective is to make sure Jime understands the chapters from the book. She wouldn't be able to do the assignments on the chapters. So far, I´ve had 3 lessons with her. The first class consisted of finishing an assignment and making sure she understood what was asked. Our second class was different from the first one. We had the opportunity to read in spanish to improve her understanding. However, the third one consisted of the same activity. In order to deduct next steps, I need to ask my mentors. We communicate with each other via a Whatsapp group. The discussions are about what needs to get done and improved. Also, they consist of the division of work (who's doing what, time, where). Since last class, I started thinking that reading in spanish doesn't really help her improve her english. My new idea consists of focusing on 3 or 2 chapters per lesson, reading them in english first and then going over them in spanish. I feel this will improve her language performance. As I said earlier, I´ve been reading with Jime the book they're reading in English class. The lessons are every tuesday at 6pm. They last 1 hour each. As well, I´ve been researching what's the best way to learn a new language. Some of these have been put into action. Also, communicating with my mentor has been useful. Now that we have a Whatsapp group with Jime´s teachers I feel organized and professional. The past few weeks, I had the opportunity to grow as a learner. Investing time to help others really tells something about a person. I´m glad to say that this project is helping myself develop as an exemplary CAS IB student. During this time, I´ve recognized jime strengths and areas to work on. I'm sure as a team we will work together and overcome those weak areas.
