Everyone that has been in Costa Rica knows is really hot. Fortunately, some of us have the privilege to have an AC at home. Which makes our lives easier. In 2020, a pandemic arrived in the country, coronavirus. The virus killed Costa Rica's economy in the sector of tourism. Businesses shut down. Millions of workers were fired or gained less than 50% of their salary, including my mom. As a result to that, everyone at home had to be more considerate with paying the electricity bill each month. Leading to having off the AC majority of time. It can be 12 md and we can not turn on the AC. Life is hard to earn, that is the main learning outcome I gained from this experience. Along with being perseverance. It was hard at the beginning, but then you get used to it. During this experience, I felt part of the house. Due to the fact that I was really helping my mom reduce the electricity bill. Likewise, the experience made me reflect on how grateful I am of having access to food and shelter.
