Stacy – Journal Entry January 26, 2021

Today I find myself being helpful. Two of my classmates are still planning their second CAS project. Which consists on raising money to fly to Mexico and visit a tribe. I felt interested in the project. And when it´s about helping others, I´ll be the first one there. Both of my classmates had to start from zero when raising money. In order to achieve their goal, one of their strategies is to make a raffle. During CAS class today, I contributed to their project by decorating posters to hang around the school and market the raffle. In the process, I reflected on how hard it was for me and my partner to plan and organize an event for all the school in order to raise money. I realized that our CAS journey was coming to an end, which made me sad. During all those months, I enjoyed helping my community to make it a better place. Another learning outome was that long term goals take time to achieve. The ib learner profile embodied on this experience was being an inquirer. I nurtured my curiosity, and developing skills for inquiry and research. And I learned to work independently and with others.
