¨Gratitude is the fairest blossom which springs from the soul.” – Henry Ward Beecher.
Student Sponsoring Students has money left to spend after corona arrived. Me and my partner Cata decided to spend that money on snacks for scholarship students from pre-K to 10th grade. We divided jobs in order to make the job more efficent and organized. Cata was encharge of buying the snacks at the super market and my job was to find La Paz reusable bags in order to purchase the snacks. The healthy snacks were supposed to last one week. In the process of packaging, our friend Stefano helped us since between more people, the faster. The time we did it was during advisory. Teachers who passed by felt excited due to our gratitude gift. I felt proud as teachers complemented us. The major learning outcome from this experience was having the chance to reflect on how grateful I am with everyone who has helped me along the IB journey. The snack consisted of all kinds of healthy items such as yogusrts, healthy cookies, fruits, healthy juices, etc... Adding on, the second learning outcome was working as a team. The opportunities of working with Fano were low, and today I had a chance to do so. It is easier working with peers who communicate ideas. Likewise, the Ib trait I enrolled during the experience was being a communicator and caring. Communicator because my partner and I communicated with teachers and with ourselves in order to achieve the objective. And through the experience Cata and I showed empathy, compassion and respect. We acted to make a positive difference in the lives of scholarship students.
