True Colors Journal Entry

Explain, what did you take away from reflecting on your own personal color style and that of others in the group?

Something I take away is the bond of all kinds. My color was blue. It is a color that represents empathy, that person who makes sure that everyone has the same equality, that person who can be trusted, that person who puts other people before himself, a sensitive person, great listeners and very kind. When filling out the survey the results showed that blue would be the color that would represent my personality. In the activity I asked a lot about whether that color would identify me and all my classmates said that it was the perfect color for me. I guess because I care a lot for people.

What observations can you make about the type of personal styles that we have as a group?

In most of the activities I could really see that as a group in general we are all very close. We are like a family, we support each other. I think as a group what makes us different from the other groups in the school facilities is that we are not afraid to be honest and we value the little moments together. Every color we were a part of whether it was blue, green, gold or orange is important for us to continue to be a very strong unified class. Some personal styles that I believe stand out the most are organization, trust/ empathy, responsibility, imperactivity, commitment, teamwork/leadership.

Is there a complementary color to yours? Explain which one and why.

Yes there was a complementary color. My first color was blue and my second color was gold. I personally believe that I could become gold. I’m not perfectionist which was one of the characteristics of being a “gold” but I am organized I apply some personal goals to myself that I will definitely accomplish throughout the school year, I am motivated to keep remembering myself about my smart goal and I will do my best keep fulfilling myself with motivation and positiveness. Gold’s are people who are leaders, I don’t consider myself a leader but I could become one. I feel like some characteristics could apply to my personality but some of them definitely don’t apply, meaning I prefer to stay in blue for a while.

What are ways we can take this information into our work in class or in our CAS projects to work collaboratively in positive ways?

All the information I learned from being blue applies to my CAS project because I care for people. I care for those who don’t have a home, for those who live on the streets. I care for people who can’t afford what they need, for those who need to be helped. Which fits perfectly into the objective I want to focus on “helping others”. I’m very glad I am working with a gold person, meaning I can learn from her and might as well become a gold and she can learn from me and might as well be a blue. We will both comply together to make this project successful; so far we’ve worked together in communicating, being very organized by following our “gantt chart” and having a great balance with academic and social life. This makes my life better because sometimes I ask myself what is my purpose in life? And now I know that my purpose is helping those who want to be helped.
