Are we alone?

Statistics and probability show that it is far more likely that there is life outside of Earth and more than that but intelligent life. There is a 40% chance that we are alone but that means the there is a 60% chance that there is life out there somewhere. What does this mean for us little earth dwellers? This means that we have even more reason to explore space and find a different civilization. Besides who knows the other beings might be millennia’s ahead in technology and consciousness?
