Dajae Williams is an engineer at NASA and from reading a short summary of her journey on NPR, I found her story very interesting. At first she didn’t think she was very good in school until she did a project writing a song about the quadratic formula. This was very interesting to me because music plays a big part of my life and the fact that music was able to change hers is very inspiring. With more research I found that she originally went to college on a full ride basketball scholarship but left that to do an internship at Anheuser-Busch, but after her internship ended she couldn’t afford to go back to her other college. She went back to playing basketball at a local community college and was offered many internships at places like John Deer and Toyota. She now works at NASA and continues to make music about science and math to inspire others to pursue paths in science and math, just like she did.
