An example of when I overcame my fears is when I was in sixth grade. There was this giant swing that you could go on that was 50 meters tall, and I’ve always been pretty scared of heights, so I automatically said that I wasn’t going to do it. I ended up doing it though, and going the whole 50 meters up, and I enjoyed it so much. Of course, that doesn’t much feel like it compares to going blind in space, but it was still a fear of mine. Chris Hadfield talks about how our perception of situations determines whether or not we are afraid, which I think is so true. There have been very few scenarios I’ve been in actual danger, but I am scared often, so if I take the time to think rationally about how I’m perceiving what’s happening, it could help lots with those fears.

Hello! Great job explaining a fear that you have had and overcome! I also have a fear of heights, but I have never gone up fifty meters. I liked that you talked about our perception of fear. Overall, great job!
